Weebly is a tool that allows you to create a website, blog, or store to share with others. Creating an account is fairly simple as long as you have an email address.
Weebly has four different plans to choose from:
1.) Free-provides you with the basic tools you will need to create a website.
2.) Starter-$4 per month
3.) Pro-$8 per month
4.) Business-$25 per month
The features on each of these plans vary based the cost one is willing to pay.
Rating-Use of Ease: 4/5
Weebly is very user friendly as it allows you to first choose your purpose, the role of the website, and a domain. Once this is done, choose a template and easily drag and drop text boxes and images to include in each page. Multiple pages can be added or deleted to your website. There is even a feature that allows you to sell products from your site store. Websites can be created and are easily accessible through your home computer, laptop, tablet, or mobile device. In addition, a user can create more than one website that can be accessed through their home page.
Some of Weebly's Features:
- HD video upload
- YouTube uploads
- Audio files
- Document uploads
- Contact Form
- Search box
- Social Icon
- RSVP form
- Survey
- Bookings
- Forums
Examples of Website Uses:
- Businesses
- Advertising Products
- Selling Products
- Showcase Interests, Hobbies, or Work to Others
- Teachers: Resource for Students or Other Teachers/Faculty Members
- Blog: for a magazine, company, personal use, etc.
***Use in an Educational Setting: The website is particularly useful as a teacher because it provides a source of media that both students and teachers can use to access relevant information. A teacher can use this website to provide information on assignments and grading systems for her students or can design a website for collaboration with other teachers that is full of curriculum materials and informational resources.
Our school uses Weebly and I never took the time to learn about it. Also, your directions were awesome!! Great tutorial.
