This blog is designed as a resource for CURR 501, Media Literacy, Popular Culture and Education at Rhode Island College, summer 2014. The course is driven by the essential question: How is new media and digital culture produced and consumed in ways that help us understand ourselves and each other in the context of the current educational landscape?

Smore Digital Flyer

The Smore Digital flyer is a great digital tool that allows you to create flyers for many promotional purposes.
Once you go on the website, you need to create a free account.
Your next step is to choose the type of flyer you would like to create.
After that, you're ready to create your flyer.
Click on each part of the flyer to add or edit information. You can edit the text (bold, italics, underline) and you can add links to the text. You can add or delete sections on the flyer.
In addition, you can add pictures, audio, or video on the flyer.
On the right side of the page you can choose your design (from modern to vintage) and save your work.
When your flyer is ready, you can share it on a social media of your choice, email it to your friends and even print your flyer.
Click here to see the flyer I created.
This web tool was user friendly and easy to edit!

Thank you,

  1. Hi Cristina,
Is it a little bit like Evite or better (or worse)? Just curious b/c your flyer reminded me of Evite.

    Thanks :)

  2. Cristina,
Your flyer looks great. I'm looking forward to having students use this for assignments. Is it always free? Can you print and download the flyers for free? Any restrictions?

  3. Cristina,
I especially liked how the flyer had an icon for google maps to allow you to find directions to the event. Very useful!
